Did these ridiculous chibis to make GIFs for my Subeta profile— which, by the way, I am incredibly proud of so far, but I’m exhausted now. But I worked too hard on these to leave them tiny, so here they are full sized.
Didn’t know how presumptuous it was of me to watermark them, but honestly, if anyone wants to use these for their own projects I totally don’t mind as long as I’m credited.
Gahh, I am intensely happy with how Jemima, Etcetera and Electra turned out; I was so intimidated to do their fancy markings.

They are too cute. Etcetera and Electra, that is, not Mistoffelees and Cassandra.

Again, not Misto and Cass’s butts. Demeter and Jemima holding hands. When I first noticed this I think I had a heart attack. Demeter and Jemima are my two favorite queens, but they hardly ever interact - I think the only other time is very briefly during Deut’s “Jellicle Cats and dogs all must, etc” - here:
But that is hardly anything (I also love how Jenny strokes Demeter and Demeter takes her hand - in my headcanon, Jellylorum and Jennyanydots were the first ones to really welcome Demeter to the Tribe, so she has a sort of special bond with them - also, Etcy and Lecci being cute again in the corner), which really blows for the common theory that Demeter and Jemima are mother and daughter, either by Macavity or by Munkustrap (Macavity for me). So that adorable hands-holding moment between the two above during Mistoffelees really set my heart a-flutter.
Also, Demeter in general looks so freakin’ happy during the entire Mistoffelees song - just look at her face. Constant smiles, and she really seems to be enjoying the magic. This made me believe that Demeter somehow knew Mistoffelees before she really knew the rest of the Tribe, and that they were friends, and she’s just so happy to see him again.
Oh my Gosh I’ve been looking foreveeer for that Etcy/Electra bit where they’re butt-bumping!
Again, they’re one of my favorite dynamics in the play. So freakin’ playful. Honestly, they and Pouncival so perfectly encapsulate kitten-ness it’s not even funny. No, wait, yes it is; it’s hilarious. You go, kittens.
Freakin’ Jo Bingham stepping in for Phyllida Crowley Smith as Victoria during the beginning of the Aweful Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles.
Because she does absolutely nothing to mask the fact that she’s Etcetera. It’s OBVIOUSLY Etcetera, only wearing Victoria’s skin like some horrible (yet adorable) Buffalo Bill-style psychopath for a minute or so before deciding that, while white is nice for a change, being a Calico hides more dirt. She’s just in the background, twitching her head and doing that weird kitten tongue thing in the body of our svelte, dignified white ingenue.
I adore how much fun it looks like everyone has during Skimbleshanks’ song. Like, especially Etcetera and Jemima, they look like they’re having such a blast with each other.
I love Etcetera and Electra in general. I love how Etcetera’s obviously the boisterous, hyper sister to Electra’s introverted, awkward one. Etcy’s always just in the background trying to get Electra to do crazy bouncy things with her, and Electra always looks a little scared of her.
Exotica bugs me so much. The entire concept of her bugs me; it’s probably the one thing I have an issue with in the video. She was made up on the spot because they had Femi Taylor on hand… but instead of giving her an interesting design or at least some interactions with the other characters, I get the feeling that they literally just needed a “A black person, hey, look!” cat and she was the girl to do it. They barely bothered to make her look like a cat at all, just threw her in a completely plain dark brown leotard, gave her a cringe-worthy name (Exotica? Seriously?), a wig identical to Cassandra’s and proceeded to leave her out of every major dance sequence or scene in the movie. The disappointing part is that it’s not like Femi Taylor is just a big name, she’s actually been in CATS before. There’s a video of her playing Bombalurina at least on YouTube. So why not let her play Bombalurina? Or Cassandra, since that’s basically what they tried to make her look like anyway? They could have even made Exotica work— oh, she’s there, then she’s not, and sometimes her leotard looks totally different! Maybe she’s a Macavity crony or has weird powers or something!— but they put zero effort into her and that’s a big disappointment.
Oh my God, the way Jennyanydots and Skimbleshanks are cuddling with one another at the end of Mr. Mistoffelees/beginning of Memory is adorable. Like those novelty, tacky posters of kittens cuddling with each other? That kind of adorable. I never noticed it until just now, either; I sort of figured people got the Jenny/Skimble mate thing just as a sort of default because they’re both older and hang around each other a lot, but they are so so so cute during that scene daafadkjlfa.
I love how after Mistoffelees’ big song, he just sort of sits in the background and sparkles. Like, there’s no time for him to change out of his sparkly outfit, so he’s just got to deal with being incredibly distracting during, say, Memory, or the Ad-dressing of the Cats.
Tugger standing on the car during Grizabella’s big ascent is so weirdly hilarious, especially his fist-pumping during the “Up!”s.
Plato’s creepy.
I used to think he was really cute, with his little mancrush on Tugger and his really neat makeup design, but something about re-watching the video recently has made me… uhh… well…

Alright, here is the delicate ingenue of the play making her first hesitant transition into womanho— and he went for the “stick your damn ear right in the crotch of the terrified virgin” move.
Okay, how many kittens are you going to rape in this musical. Do you even, you know, hang around Victoria after the ball? At all? No? No.
Headcanon says that Tugger is crazy uncomfortable around Plato and always likes to be in a group of at least several other cats if he’s in the area. ‘Cause… you know, it’s not like Plato’s ever DONE anything… but you never know. Just sort of precautionary measures.
